From there I headed towards Winston-Salem, NC to meet up with Firepics member Micah Bodford. Since I had about three hours to kill before I was scheduled to arrive at Jon's house, we decided to do some hunting. As you can see, the clouds were beginning to break up.
Micah had some info on the location of a relic that I was interested in finding. We followed his lead and were able to get photos. I'm sure all of you are familiar with Baker Engineering and their involvment with the Aerialscope, but years before that, they built a small number of apparatus in Charlotte, NC, including this one. It doesn't look like much now, which is a shame due to its rarity. It sits in a field at a trucking company near Advance, NC.
