Great Photo!!! This was the only 700 to be labeled KCMO Fire Department on the jump-seat wall all other 700's had the large KCFD on the jump-seat wall. This unit #229 later opened the newly established Truck 15 at Fire House 28 on June 8th, 1974. It is now sitting beside a downtown building in Wellsville, Kansas 40miles south of Kansas City on I-35. At some point on the KCFD it was wrecked the tractor has some significant damage. Most all of the ALF 700's and K-Cab Seagrave's were re-powered in the 1970's and then were auctioned in the early 1980's. This one however kept it's V-12 which it still has, it was probably wrecked before it could be re-powered.
Fire House 28 opened with a Seagrave Quad 28 in 1971 and in 1974 was converted to a Truck 15 and Pumper 28 then in 1977 the were converted to a Squad 28 and Quint 28 and Truck 15 was disbanded. Currently 28 is a single Pumper and Truck 15 was reestablished and it at FH 36 with Pumper 36. After the evil Quint Concept failed.
