Boston Multiples
#1
Here is some trivia that may be of interest to a very few folks.

Boston ran about 43 multiple alarms in 2011. Down some from the hundreds they ran in "War Years" but for any number of mostly positive reason the number of big ones is declilning.

Here is a list of units first due at each fire. This does not mean they arrived first or that the fire was in their first due area. On at least one occsion there were close to simultaneous multiples in the Dorchester are where 17 and 18 would have been first due but 3 was first due, probably from a cover assignement.

E-17 5

E-42 4

E21-33-37 3

E4-5-9-16-18-52 2

E3-7-8-10-22-28-39-41-48-49-50-51-56 1

Every body else 0 including Fort Dudley and Grove Hall

L-7 8

L-6 4

L-10-21 3

L-2-4-15-17-18-23-24-26-28 2

L-1-9-11-14-19-25-29 1

L-16 the only Truck without a first due multiple

District 7 10

District 8-9 6

District 1-4 5

District 3 4

District 12 3

District 6-11 2

This year maybe I will track all multiples and have first due as a seperate category. My conundrum is weather to count details companies on each multiple? for very large fires some units may get two or three multiples for one fire.

Comments are welcomed

Happy New Year
