The next few shots come from the City of Hamlet. On September 3, 1991 Hamlet became infamous for one of the deadliest fires in the workplace since the Triangle Shirtwaist fire. The Imperial Chicken processing plant claimed the lives of 25 employees due to numerous padlocked or blocked emergency exits and injured another 54 employees. This fire has special meaning for me being in the prevention side of the fire service because of the requirements for a state adopted fire code and regular fire inspections after the tragedy. If you have a chance, read up on it if you like, Anyway, back to the rigs that now serve Hamlet.
