Seattle, WA also ran this 1957 Mack B/Heiser 1500/200 pumper as TE244. Neat stuff. Can anyone tell us what the unit numbers indicate? Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Take care for now. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

No. 244 was the Seattle Shop #. I'm not sure what the "TE" stood for. This Mack B had a Mack serial # of B21F-1005 and served at Engine 2, Engine 8 and Engine 22 before going into reserve in 1981. The department sold it in March, 1992. Info is from Richard Schneider, Seattle FD retired. No. 245 was Mack serial #B21F-1009 and served at E10, E19, E13, E10, E41, E28 and E40 before becoming a reserve piece in October 1980. It was sold on March 19, 1992.
These pumpers had Hall-Scott 324 hp gas engines and cost the department $18,905.22. Seattle had six of these Mack B/Heiser pumpers. Thanks to Richard Schneider for his detailed Seattle history info.
