Aurora, CO Plane Crash 1/28/14
#1
This afternoon South Metro Fire Rescue ARFF was dispatched to an "Air Alert 2" in flight emergency at Centennial Airport.  A pilot 12 miles east of the airport called an emergency when of his engines failed.  The Twin Cessna had 2 souls on board and 4 hours of fuel.  As the airport units were getting into position the tower reported a loss of radar indication on the aircraft about 10 miles southeast of the field.  The incident was upgraded to an "Air Alert 3" aircraft crash and more units were dispatched.  At the same time the City of Aurora received a 911 call reporting a plane down along Inspiration Drive.

South Metro Safety 34 was first to arrive and report the plane upright, no fire and both occupants walking around.  Red 3 and Medic 42 drove out to the crash.
