No one was home at Jasper VFD but this old bread truck and a brush truck that I did not shoot were outside.

I've gotten to know the chief at Jasper after visiting there several times. Great guy, but the department is very, very strapped for money. Here's what's found in the bays:

• Brush 9 2008 Chevrolet 3500/FD 250/250 (first out on all calls)

• Engine 91 1976 Ford C900/FMC 1000/750 (ex Smithfield VFD [Isle of Wight Co])

• Engine 92 1981 Chevrolet C-70/FMC 750/1000 (ex Gate City, VA [Scott Co])

• Tanker 9 1976 Ford 900/EEI 500/1150 (ex-Hunterdale VFD [Southampton County, VA])

[left]During my last visit, they were contemplating selling the brush truck because they couldn't make the payments on it. They were reluctant to, however, because they couldn't trust the other rigs to make it to the scene.[/left]
