Yes Fort Worth Truck 14 was rebuilt. It started life as Ladder 14 a 1986 E\-One Hurricane Canopy Cab dry no water or pump with lap doors with PA style siren. It was the square Hurricane cab. I called them here in KCFD the Box Car Pumpers.
It was rehabbed in 2001 as Truck 14 with new Hurricane Sedan Cab, Federal Q2b siren and Roll-Up doors. It retained the true truck company dry no water or pump. It is the only remaining Fort Worth Aerial Ladder Truck that is dry. The three other Trucks 1,2,8 (Towers) are wet.
Fort Worth used to call the machines Pump, Ladder, District Chief. They switched in the 1990's to Engine, Truck, Battional. The Squad, Snorkels, and Quints always carried thoses designations. The old classic maltese foil door decals said Pump Company, Ladder Company, Snorkel Company.
