The Saltsburg rescue was the very first rescue truck that 4-Guys built.

Ed, I think you are misinformed on this. 4-Guys built their 1st rescue squad bodies back in 1982, when a 1982 Ford F-800 chassis was used to build this walk-in rescue for Boswell, Somerset Co. This had compartment doors not seen on future deliveries and was ordered to replace a wrecked unit. Also in 1982, a GMC C-6500 chassis was used to build non-walk-in rescue for East Franklin Twp., Armstrong Co. This rig had 2 compartment doors similar to the Boswell rig, other cabinetry on this unit resembled that of 4-Guys pumper and tanker bodies at the time.
Both rigs appeared in 4-Guys lit c. 1984
The Boswell rig was replaced in 1993 and went to Fayette Co. (photo)
