When did Aspers and Midway close? I snapped a photo of Aspers Station when I was down for the SPAAMFA Winter convetion in Gettysburg in February, and I thought it looked awefully run down, tremendously overgrown with weeds, but the rigs where still inside, except 1 older 1 sitting out back in the weeds.

Midway was decertified by Conewago Township in December of 2006 after Midway declined to merge with the McSherrystown, Brushtown, Conewago and Centennial departments which formed SAVES (Southeastern Adams Vol Emergency Services). Aspers was decertified by the three townships they served first due in October of 2010 due to "financial practices concerns" (per Hanover Evening Sun} in the Aspers organization. I believe that the Aspers fire station itself is still for sale. It still shows up in MLS.
