I guess if the County just spent money into repairing it and if it still runs well, they won't junk it yet. We also have to remember that this rig served as Engine 54 and has been at 54 its whole life where they don't run much. I'd be curious to actually know what the mileage is on it compared to most of the other County Reserves.
As far as I know for sure three Reserve Engines I know are definitely getting junked are RE 63, RE 67, and RE 73 due to all having blown motors. They're all sitting outside the County Maintenance Shop on Glen Arm. And then X-Engine 7's old Freightliner is being renumbered/assigned to Reserve Engine 67.
