I recall seeing at least one SUV done up like this previously. As I recall reading somewhere along the line, the switch was based more on economics than aesthetics. Supposedly white over red fire apparatus have better resale/trade value and/or generate more interest among departments looking to purchase used apparatus. So, the county switched.
