Fire House 1

I have had the photos for a couple of years. Pittsburg is a community in south east Kansas with a populations of 20,000 with three fire houses within twelve square miles. They fully staff two Engine's, one Quint, one Batt Chief, and staff the Tower Ladder with a driver. The community is home to Pitt State University and a hub for the south east Kansas strip mining industry. The last fire house one was housed downtown in the city's old steam plant. It was two story with two brass poles. The department with staffing and equipment had out grown the fire house. The City has developed a unique way to fund capital building projects. They ask the voters for a sales tax with an expiration date once the projected is paid for. This has allowed the city over the years to construct a new Fire House Three, Police Headquarters, City Pool, City Hall, City Water Treatment Plant.

As you turn right from the stairs is the weight room with fire pole access on the right and the dining hall across on the left. The kitchen is diagonal to the dining hall.

As you leave the kitchen hallway you enter the bunk room north south hallway. Individual bunk rooms are on the east side left and night watch alarm desk and showers are on the right side. The door at the end of the hall leads to a second floor patio with grill.
