Acton, MA Engine # 27 was this 1971 Maxim/Snorkel 1000/500/50'.

It was a 1973 F-Model, not a 1971 and IIRC, the boom was a 54 or 55 foot and not a 50 foot. I grew up in Acton and remember the year it was delivered. It was originally delivered with an all-red cab and remained that way until refurbed. In 1975 they purchased another similar Maxim F (E21, the first rig delivered to Acton from the factory in white-over-red) which is now in private hands. It did not have a Snorkel boom though. E27 went to the East Conway FD in New Hampshire where it was designated ES2 and served with another, late '60's Maxim-F from Wareham, Massachusetts. Unknown if it's still there or not
