Quite a bit of controversy has erupted because of the Independent brush unit. Apparently the unit does not meet Frederick County's brush truck standard for water carried and some other items. Therefore, there was a long discussion on what the unit should be called and how it would be dispatched. The unit will be desiganted "Jeep 1", but will only be dispatched in IHC's first due area and will not appear on cards for mutual aid runs. However, a neighboring department can request the unit if they choose to do so. Now, this was the situation last week, it may have changed since then.
