What happend to the 92 Spartan that served at Engine 5 until E5 got E1s old rig? One more question is Ladder 2s 'new' cab a Pierce Arrow and what year is it?
Nice find by the way on the photo.

Salem actually does have one spare engine ('88 KME, originally E1 -- then briefly ran as E4 and recently as E5 when the spartan went down). Here it is currently lettered as E3.
As for the 92 Spartan/3D that served at E5, the truck was out of service more than it was in over the past few years -- and they finally decided to replace it when the motor blew in early '05. It was sold off by the city to a local construction company and last I heard the owner was doing some body work to it and planned to get it back up and running (as a firetruck, not a sander!).
L2's Pierce Arrow cab is classified as an '05 -- that is when EJ Murphy's did the 2nd refurb. The truck is originally an '82 Maxim that had a 4-door enclosure put on in 1996 by the former Fire Resources. This truck is more or less a spare, and only runs when more than one of the pumps are down -- or if there is a big storm or event going on (like Halloween).
