About five miles east of town, the bottom dropped out. I-10 got ugly, wipers on high and not keeping up, 20 MPH with four-ways on, barely able to see the 18-wheeler that was 50' in front of me.... Only lasted about 10-12 miles, then let up to a normal heavy rain. A short time later, it repeated again, then broke up a bit by the time I was nearing Hammond, LA. I had targets there, so I got off the interstate.
Hammond Station 3 is located near the campus of Southeastern Louisianna University, AKA "The Lions". It was overcast when I got there, but I really wanted a shot of the rig, so I asked the guys to pull it out and I got what I could. They also had a reserve engine there, so I asked for that one as well. As the guy finished backing it insde, the sun popped out. I asked him to pull the first rig back out for me.
