One of four similar apparatus delivered to Sandy Springs, along with two Enforcer pumpers, during 2006.  When delivered, all four quints had 2000 GPM pumps.  One pair had Detroit Diesels and the other pair had Cummins.  All six rigs were replaced with new Pierce Quantum apparatus within the past year.  Quint 1 is now a platform instead of a stick. 

 

Sandy Springs is one of the newer cities in Georgia, incorporating in 2005.  Their Fire Department began operation in 2006, responding from three former Fulton County stations (2, 6, & 18) and Atlanta Station 39.  Atlanta closed 39's many years ago.  An agreement was reached between Atlanta and Fulton County where Fulton Engine 4 occupied that station and responded first due to Engine 39 and Engine 4's territories.  That arrangement continues today, courtesy of Sandy Springs Quint 4.
