03/04/15 Box 901 New Haven, CT- New Haven Firefighters responding to a report of a kitchen fire arrived to find a three story, wood frame with heavy fire on the first floor.  The fire rapidly extended throughout the dwelling before being brought under control in about forty five minutes.  There was also evidence of a gas explosion on the number one side.  Part of the first floor was heavily damaged and bowed out.  No one was home at the time of the fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
