About 2315, Truck 7 was responding to a fire on 82nd Ave. They were on Division St. at about 98th Ave. when they were cancelled.
When they turned around, the tillerman saw a large fire about 100th Ave. and they ordered a box. At 2316 Dispatch transmitted Box 757.
The remaining assignment was E7, 19, 31, 30, T2, R7, C1 & C2. C3 was returning from the first fire and added himself to the box.
Access was up a narrow alley and shortly after Engine 7 stopped, the electrical service to the house fell across the engine and a shed. Fortunately, the wire was well insulated and did not charge the engine.
On the report of someone still inside, Truck 7 began a search. Jasen found a woman on the 2nd floor but was unable to move her because
of her size. The wall below the window had to be cut out in order to remove her. She was removed to an ambulance, but was D.O.A.
There was heavy fire on the D side.
Engine 7 advancing a 2-1/2 into the ground floor.
There was heavy smoke on the A side.
Jasen was exhausted and dejected after finding the victim, but unable to remove her.
Relief crews trying to enter.
The wall below the window had to be cut away to get the victim out.
After the shift change Engine 7 returned for the oncoming shift to see the scene.
The Investigators returned after daylight to try to establish a cause.
