#1
Today, October 6, 2015, we lost one of our Brothers, "Fire175"

John Friis was 54 years old and battled cancer for some time.

He was a retired Navy Aviation Electrician and a retired Fire Captain with the US Navy Regional Mid Atlantic Fire Department. He had been a volunteer firefighter in Virginia Beach, VA and was a honorary Fire Captain with the Franklin, VA Fire and Rescue Department.

John was a feature writer, Tidewater, for Fire Apparatus Journal and a frequent poster in Firepics.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday October 9th at 2pm at the Wright Funeral Home, Franklin Va. Burial with full military honors will be at 1pm Monday October 12th in the Lawrenceville, Ohio Cemetery.

John will certainly be missed as an photographer, but as a friend.

Rest in Peace Brother.
