Lampeter Fire Company (Lancaster County, PA)
Engine 54-3
1974 Mack CF
Ex-Horsham, PA
I post this with a heavy heart. When I took more recent photos of their fleet a few days ago, I learned this Mack CF may be never coming back into service. It dropped the front drive-shaft returning from a public event last Saturday. The tow company that picked it up never disengaged the rear drive-shaft before starting to tow it. This caused the rear drive shaft to let loose and violently swing around under the body. Both frame rails have been severed, a huge hole was breached in the water tank through the undercarriage and any other lines running under the body were ripped out. My opinion only, but I'm afraid she's run her last call.
