A new type rig for Peoria.
LA-192 (for "Low Acuity") is a new alternate response rig that just went into service. This rig is staffed by a Paramedic and an EMT. It will respond on non-critical BLS calls (it is equipped with full ALS gear) in a high volume area around Station 192 (2's) district. The goal is to reduce miles (mostly) on Engine 192, currently Peoria's busiest engine. I'm only guessing, but I think E-192 runs well over 4k calls a year, of which 80% are EMS. This rig is a Battalion spare that will be used until the permanent rig (2016/17 F350) comes in.
