This one is a bit of a mystery, although I have my suspicions. The FD says it was built by Seagrave, but there are no Seagrave markings, tags or labels anywhere on it. As yet, no one in the buffing world can confirm that it is a Seagrave, including those who have factory delivery records. I suspect that it might be a Timpco-Seagrave. This company was in the apparatus business between 1966 and 1969, building about 140 commercial-chassis rigs under contract with Seagrave. On their delivery list, I find a 1967 delivery to Staunton, VA, the county seat and only a short distance from Churchville. In Staunton FD's history, I find no mention of any apparatus from Timpco-Seagrave. It could be that it is actually the Churchville rig, but I have not yet confirmed it.
