I remeber Engine 7's Wagon with the white roof.
I don't believe the Maxim's had the white roof. They were originally delivered with the gold lettering as seen on most of the photos above, but most were repainted in the early 80's with a more vibrant shade of lime green, and given red lettering, like on Engine One. I think this happened after the big chemical leak in East Somerville destroyed the paint jobs on most of the rigs.
I don't have any of Ladder 3's ALF, but there are a ton of old photos on the
Somerville Union web site, mostly B&W http://www.somervillelocal76.org/?zone=/un...paratus20Photos
I would love if someone has a shot of Ladder 4's red Maxim Tiller. This rig was stationed with E-7
on Highland Ave. This was the last red rig purchased by the city until 1989
It was disbanded at the same time as E-5, and repainted Lime Green and reassigned to Ladder 3.

I always wanted a shot of Somerville E 6s pirsch in lime but never got one.
Do you have ladder three's ALF?
Now a little known factoid. The Maxims and the Diamond Reos were origianlly delivered in White over lime but were repained pretty quickly to the lime yellow you see there
