26 Engine, a good friend of mine was detailed here on 9/11 from 34 Truck. His name was Dana Hannon, and he gave all on that fatefull day along with all of our other Brothers.
An interesting fact about 26 Engine. I believe it is the oldest or one of the oldest operating firehouses in the FDNY. In the pic, you can catch a glimpse of the spiral staircase on the rt. side (looking at the truck, rt side). The reason for the spiral staircase, is when they had the horse drawn apparatus, they had problems with the horses walking up the stairs, hence the installation of the spiral staircase.
