Info on the Clearfield rig:
1972 Ford C-900/Bruco, full cab, 4X4 custom walk-in rescue, 534CI gas motor, 5-speed manual transmission, HP/280, two high pressure lines, Napco 4x4 system, 6.5KW generator, front & rear winches, A-frame, could seat ten men in the box or could transport 4 patients if need be. Cost $45,800 new. It was purchased used by the Thorndale Fire Company (Chester County, PA) from the Clearfield Fire Company (Clearfield County, PA) in 1984. The Ford Motor Company called this “First of it’s Kind”. Thorndale had it repainted LYW. It was only in service a couple of years due to a severe rust problem with the body. It was sold out of the fire service in 1989. It was last seen sitting in the Great Valley Auto Salvage yard, Malvern, PA.
