Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous

This is a nice piece of history - Gunston's first fire truck. I have seen two different dates listed for this truck - 1940 and 1946. Any feedback would be appreciated. I am also unsure who built the body (Oren, Howe??). 350gpm.

Note the rear fender design, it's an Oren trademark. I can't confirm that the Chevy chassis is a 1946, but it isn't a 1940. The 1940 had a narrower grille.
