The runs I made riding 12 Engine's Mack "C" were countless. Went to lots of big fires riding the backstep of that rig.
Here's a shot of a three-alarm fire that destroyed an Acme Supermarket, at Clinton Avenue and Lincoln Park, on July 18, 1971. I was a Captain in the Reserve then and I was on top of 12 Engine's Mack "C" telling two of my crew to go out and stretch in another feed for 12 Engine.[/color]
