Austin-Travis County EMS is a seperate 3rd service public saftey agency, not a part of Austin Fire-Rescue. The vehicle pictured above is driven by the homeland security district commander (TDO-2) and the StarFlight division commander has one almost Identical. Any staff commander or chief that may actually respond such as the terrorisim duty officer has this type of truck, others such as executive command are issued crown vics, explorers, or tahoes. Our new District Command vehicles will be set up very similar to this but with a paint scheme that matches our ambulances.
