This rig replaced Fairview's famed Ahrens Fox Quad with the 70ft. midship aerial. It didn't stick around too long and was replaced in the early 1980's by a Pierce Arrow LTI rearmount. A friend of mine who is a paid firefighter in Fairview related that this truck was severly underpowered making it a dog on the hills around the district. Fairfiew had two other Sanford's both engines. The first, a 1965 was rebuilt by Pierce with a 50ft. Telesquirt sometime around 1980 and retired in the mid-1990's. The second was a 1972; it too was rebuilt in the early 1980's with a new E\-One body. I am not aware of how much longer this engine served before being retired. Must have been neat though in the early '70's to see a whole fleet of custom Sanfords![[Image: rolleyes.gif]](http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

The 1965 Sanford / Pierce Telesquirt is still in service with the Poland New York F.D.
