Oh yes! There are some good ones in this batch. The Kecksburg ones were the most interesting. I never knew they had a tanker before the Autocar. It seems to have an outside appearance similar to Tanker 91. I knew Dry Ridge had their tanker remounted and updated, but I don't know what chassis it used to have. Maybe you could ask your former "source" from over there...! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Here is Dry Ridge, Westmoreland County, Tanker 91 for comparison. I have no idea if this is the Kecksburg one. Maybe someone else can chime in?
Also, for what it is worth, here is Kecksburg Rescue 76-5 as it appears today; I believe it has the same body with some updates. Incidently, this is their first due unit for many calls, from fires to accidents to public service, and has seen a lot of work.
I had heard before I left that Latrobe #6 was replacing the Ward with an American LaFrance but I don't know if they ever followed through. Latrobe #3 had a slightly similar-looking unit to the IH "bus" posted in service up until recently; it was replaced with the all black Freightliner/Kenco?? (Wing??) haz-mat/ventilation truck that is probably posted on this site numerous times.
I believe you are right Bill, it was a Kenco and it is all Black with red stripes. And I believe it is lettered as you stated.
