It was first a 76 Ford C-8000/Oren 1000/1000 that had a Spartan cab put on it in 87, then in 1990, Mason Dixon replaced the body. Fountaindale got it around 1995, and I shot it in 1997 at the Cumb. Valley convention in Waynesboro. It was replaced by the current ET3.[/quote]
That rehab had an unusual feature. When the Spartan cab was installed, they used the style which had the motor box between the officer and driver. Since during the rehab, the motor was left in it's original postion on the Ford chassis, behind and below the cab floor, that left a empty doghouse. What to do with all that wasted space? Simple...split the grille in half, hinge it at top and bottom, and mount the booster reel in the engine doghouse space!
