1965 Ford C1000/Hahn, full cab, 1000/1200, model H-10, 534 CI gas motor, 266HP, Spicer 5-speed manual transmission, delivered 4/23/65. The chassis was purchased from B.Z. Mellinger of New Holland for $7,999. It was sent to Hahn to have the body mounted. The total cost was $24,000. It was housed on 6/26/65. It was converted to a city service ladder truck in 1983 with additional tools and ladders added. In 1986 it was converted by the members to a foam unit. The water tank was removed and replaced with a 600 gallon foam tank. In late 2000 developed engine problems, company decided not to repair it, tried to sell over the internet. It was donated on Friday, 3/9/01, to the Wayne County VFD, Miss., which replaced a former beer truck with a tank and portable pump on it. It arrived in Miss. On Sunday night, members worked all night to repair the clutch, and placed it into service. In the 1st week of service, it answered two calls due to a tornado.
