After all this time, I can report that it is finally almost road ready. It still needs to have body work done, which will be hopefully done soon. I was offered a position in regional sales for the Genesis Extrication Tool set. Going to be a unique setup on my days off from the FD, because I couldn't sell you a life jacket on the Titanic...
So any sales commission I do get, I can work off the repairs in trade. A rebuilt alternator set us back $800, and some more work to go. The Q2B needs a new motor, so I may get that rebuilt and then sell it for a few bucks (as everyone's ears perk up hearing Q2B for sale... lol)
My pal owns 3 businesses (Ambo/ fire engine sales, ambo/ fire repairs, and a collision shop that does anything {look for thread with slow day with camera...lol}), so having him redo my rig will be a drivable advertisement as well. Already worked out a deal with that.
So it is FINALLY moving along.
HOWEVER, I still need some parts. Seems Mr Taylor changed his mind. Any of the Allentown area Brothers know if that guy on 309 still has the old FD NY rigs? So if anyone can help, here's what I need?
1) Federal twinsonic lightbar with clear lenses, single rotator and 2 rectangular red flashers next to siren speaker on light bar.
2) 3 piece typical FD NY red bumper (Some pics are on here under FD NY).
3) The lights on top (little amber flashers) and large red lights UNDER the canopy on rear cover.
4) Spotlights UNDER canopy cover. However, does anyone have pics of the rear of the CF Macks back then? Can't recall if spotlights were original or added by vollies I bought from. I tend to think they were original.
Wish I could do all this work myself, but I can barely change my oil in my car.. And my "Ed Garvin, male prostitute" days are long gone (as those who remember this show their age....lol)
And if some of these parts can be found, maybe I can trade a Q for them..
Thanks in advance. Stay safe, Brothers.
