Rome only had it for a few years when it tipped over due to structural failure of one of the outriggers. Sutphen took it back and replaced it with a new one. I've always wondered where it went after that.
The Rome FD operates 8 Engines, 2 Quints and one Tower, all Sutphen, plus a heavy rescue, from ten stations, covering all of Floyd County except the City of Cave Spring. With the exception of the various rescues, they have purchased only one brand since 1982.[/quote]
Dave, I believe it was last November they received it. It replaced the Mack R-Model Snorkle. The Snorkle was bought by Everson V.F.D. in Fayette County a short distance from Mt. Pleasant.
