So the 40,50 and 60 series units are what would be called "jump companies" as the Engine or Truck company members that they are located with would "jump" on the ambulance if called for. Since the Engines and Trucks run with 4 men and the Med Units run with 2 men do two of the Engine or Truck men stay at the station if a 40,50 or 60 series ambulance gets called for or do the remaining 2 men follow the ambulance to the scene on the Engine or Truck company ?
