Phil,
When I was in the Army back in the 1950's, yup that long ago, they had Mack buses! I actually drove one.
I wish I had a camera back them. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Well, there's a pic of a GI driving a GM Army bus out on the west coast. I guess that's "Close, but no cigar."

When I was in the Army in the 50s we had schoolbus-type buses. (As well as deuces (M135 and 211), 5-tons (M54 and 62), jeeps, 3/4(M37) and a 5/4 (M715) ambo and a big M5 tractor to tow the guns down to the railhead to be shipped out for annual qualification firing.
Thanks for the memories.
Phil, Bklyn.
