Yes, North Tarrytown became Sleepy Hollow in the mid-1990's. It's a more colorful local name inspired by the "legend of sleepy hollow" a novel writen by Washington Irving a local author. The story was set in the North Tarrytown area. Interestingly, nearby Irvington NY takes it's name from Washington Irving who's home was on the boarder of Irvington and Tarrytown.
