Having lived in TX for 5 years during the mid-'90's, I've followed the apparatus scene down there with interest ever since.
Is my perception correct that Plano operates with a really ambitious apparatus replacement schedule? I know it's an affluent city of over 150K with an amazing corporate tax base, but, it seems to me that they're buying new rigs faster than Code 3 can produce models of the previous new deliveries. Do they have arrangements for lucrative trade-in deals since they spec top drawer equipment? Any insight?

Plano replace's apparatus on a 10 year schedule as do most of the metroplex departments. Alot of the new equipment is for stations that have opened in the past decade. In addition, Truck 8 still run's one of the ALF/Smeal quints. They also have a Rosenbauer truck that should be delivered ASAP.
