Boston EMS
Ed, funny how you declined a new rig and they go ahead and give you a "new" one anyways. Sounds like musical ambulances every few months.
People complaining about spam in the spam mail box... Huh, what'll they think of next?

Ed,

Is this the first group of the Brauns with the electronics cabinet in the interior?

Secondly WOW are those chevrons attention getting!

Saw one at the plant about a month ago, sadly I was in such a rush to get out of the plant I forgot to photograph the unit in perfect sunlight! DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am really interested in pix of the new chevron striping package on the rigs, and do the new trucks also have the blue/yellow stripe on the bottom, like the div2 truck? Thanks in advance. We are looking into doing chevrons on our new ambulance and want to see what others are doing (particularly in MA and OEMS).

Thanks!

The only trucks I've seen it on are the Division 2 vehicle, and the new Shift Commander's vehicle, and it's only on the back of that. The fact that the new trucks don't have it lead me to believe that OEMS put the kabosh on it. They really can't do anything about the support vehicles, since none of them are Class V ambulances, and don't fall under their jurisdiction.

Thanks Ed for that info. I believe somewhere in MA there is a recent delivery of an ambulance that has the chevrons. I had a discussion with our ambulance inspector a while back on this matter. His concern was with it taking away from the required stars of life and ambulance lettering. I was curious to see if anybody had gotten something through with them. I had several proposals or ideas for our rigs, but he indicated it would have to go through the office for a ruling, I was wondering if and what they had approved (or in this case probably not approved). <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Shrug' />

Thanks again!

OEMS still is pushing ambulance markings? You would think they would have given it up when they got slapped down on the color of th estripe. Ed, I understand the supervisors truck is a Swab and experimental. How is the experiment working out?

The Div. 2 truck was a demo that was bought from Swab. It was bought as a test to see if this was the type of platform that the Supervisors wanted to go to instead of the Suburban's. Based on the reviews of those of us who have used it, it been an overwhelming sucsess. Do to the increasing amount of equipment being carried, the Suburban's were becoming overloaded, and dangerous with equip. not secured. The next versions will be similar, but probably a bit larger of a box, as this one is alrady maxed out. Bill
