Pleasantville,Ny 1948 American LaFrance 65' mm Ron Bogardus collection [/quote] Wow, I've been looking for a picture of this for a long time. It was still in service when I first joined Pleasantville in 1988, as a second due ladder. It had a white fiberglass cap put on in the mid 1980's. It was removed from service in 1992 when the Junior V-12 threw a rod while responding to a call. The hole in the motor was large, exposing the cylinders on each side of the one that broke, but it still was able to limp back to the station. It was sold to a collector, who supposedly is in the Agawam, Mass area, and has restored it to the appearance as seen in the photo. IIRC, the collector had the same or similar motor to the blown one, and it was used to provide an aerial stream at a large fire in the mid to late 1990's. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/BananaMan.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /><img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/luxhello.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /><img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yourock.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /><img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/luxhello.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /><img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/BananaMan.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Adding some slides that I scanned to sell on eBay recently. Not my slides, just selling them for a friend. Starting with some Buffalo NY apparatus, most of the slides have no information. Most of the NY stuff was taken by John Calderone, but not all.
The Buffalo pumpers are both American LaFrance Pioneer II 1250/500. Engine 37 has a 35' Telesqurt. Both have been refurbed by RD Murray and feature the Murray replacement front fenders. Buffalo had quite a fleet of these Pioneers delivered in the 1970's, both pumpers and rearmount aerials.
