That is one beautiful rehabbed late 1940's Ward LaFrance. I can say that from an up close experience. Back in the 1990's, I had a chance to chat with some of the Pearl River members when our two fire companies were lined up in the same location for the annual Port Jervis parade. They told me that it cost their fire company over $45,000 for the bodywork, paint job, gold leaf and chrome. I say that it was rehabbed, not restored, because the orginal gasoline engine (probaby Waukesha) was replaced by a diesel and the hydraulic brakes were replaced by air brakes. Too bad that those things ruined it's chances in antique competition as a restored antique.

Richard, this Ward La France was "rehabbed" at my work when it was RD Murray fire apparatus. This was before my time when I was there.
