I seem to recall that this was not a 100' tower but some odd height like 85'.

 

Just looked on Atlantic's page and it is an 85' tower no idea why they would go for the 100'.

Shot in the dark, both 85' and 100' are 3 section aerial devices, making the 85' overall shorter when retracted/stowed, you could get a shorter wheelbase and overall shorter rig w/ the 85' than you can on the 100'.

From what I was told, they wanted this aerial to have the same body and wheelbase and other features as the other recent PGFD Pierce trucks (812, 832, etc), and that required the smaller tower.
