This is the Little switzerland sub- station of Parkway Fire & Rescue. Parkway used to be known as Grassy Creek Fire and rescue. This Station is acually a 3 story station with 3 bays on the top floor, and additonal bays on the other 2 floors. This station is just a mile from my family's summer homes and a great addition to the community.

Quote:Spruce Pine VFD new Station 1 also in Mitchell County. This was a huge improvement from their old 2-story station.

This station is a MAJOR improvement over the old station, but to correct you the old station was in the basment of city hall, So acually the old station was only one story. They built this station after a major fire a couple of years ago.

Talleys Crossing VFD Station 25 in Forsyth County. Talleys shares members and a fire chief between them and City View VFD posted earlier. Interesting setup, the departments aren't officially merged but frequently dispatched together and are pretty much the same dept.

The town of Pilot Mountain no longer has a fire department and instead contracts with nearby Pilot Knob VFD. Here is Pilot Mountain's former station in Surry County

The town of Jonesville VFD is another dept that had unfortunate fate. Due to declining membership, failing a OSFM inspection, and the lack of certified members, the Jonesville town council voted to close down Jonesville VFD in 2012 and contract with Arlington VFD.
