How about some senic shots?
From my trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons over Labor Day. The weather was a mix of sun and overcast almost everyday except for the 1st day in the park. This first shot is actually from the deck of a friend in the Denver area on the first day of our trip."Sunset on the Front Range"

Grand Prismatic Pool. The picture's don't do justice to amazing colors that you see in the various hot springs and pools.

Here is the overflow from the Grand Prismatic Pool into the Firehole River. All the downed trees in the background are a result if the 1988 fires in the park. We shot in excess of 700 pictures on our trip, thank god for digital cameras!

I thought this tour bus was totally cool. There is a fleet of them that provide tours of the park. They are based on 1937 White's. Some are original but the majority are very well done replicas.

Wildlife was abundant in the park. Here is as close as I ever want to be to a Grizzly bear. He crossed the road right in front of us and by the time we got parked he was at least 100 yards from us.

Here is an elk doing his mating call which is known as bugling. According to the regulars the elk were getting frisky and bugling about 3 weeks earlier then normal.

Here's a very nice 12 point bull elk. This was at the far north end of the park at Mammoth Hot Springs area.

Here's a elk cow and her calves we caught as we were leaving the park one afternoon. This was along the Madison River heading towards West Yellowstone, MT.

Here's a large steam vent at Porcelain Geyser Basin. The white trees in the background died due to absorbing the minerals that the hot springs bring to the surface.

Here is the runoff from the geysers and springs. The vivid colors are the result of bacteria that live in the hot water at different temperatures. The Ph of the water here is in the 2-3 range. You wouldn't want to stick your finger in the water to see how hot it was.

This is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Again pictures just can't do justice to the scenery in this park, it is just awe inspiring.

Here is the Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River. It is taller then Niagara Falls. There is a trail that you can hike down to get to the brink of the falls (yes we did it). It takes you down over 600' so getting down is easy but getting back out is a tough walk!

This is the largest and most aggressive animal in the park, the American Bison. We saw one of these charge a car and almost ram it when the car got to close. If he would have hit it the bison probably would have totalled the car. It happens at least a dozen times a year in the park. These are wild animals and they like their space, unfortunately humans don't understand that.
