I know what you mean Mike. There are certain rigs that even if I have 1000 shots of them already, I can't pass up taking a picture if I see it.

This is Middleburg's new color (old was yellow and white) and they are in the process of having an older Pierce repainted.

Wow, I am a fan of solid red fire apparatus but the Middleburg engine is sharp looking.

From what I understand, Loudoun County has received confirmation from Pierce that this is the last Lance built by Pierce.

I saw this one nearing completion when I was at Pierce last month. I was also told the same thing, that it is the last Lance to be built, but I must clarify something. It will be the last Lance built NEW. This doesn't mean that Lance cabs won't be utilized at the refurb facility. The Lance cab was discontinued due to the 2007 engine emissions requirements. Pierce purchased enough pre-2007 engines that production of the Lance and Dash continued until now. (There were a couple Dash rigs being built, but they are very near the end also) If a rig comes into the refurb shop that has a pre-2007 engine, a Lance cab could be used in the refurb process.

Are not Rescue 613 and Engine 603 County purchased rigs? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Unsure' />

Here's a sneak peek at the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company's new tanker (Tanker 601) that will be finished on Father's Day. This picture was taken June 4th during our mid-construction inspection. With the recent sale of all our older apparatus, all of our large vehicles will now feature the black over red color scheme we began with the three Seagraves.

Ian,

I believe the E\-One truck went to Canada;

the Seagrave TT went to Tennessee, and

the first Luverne went to Wisconsin.

Where did the second Luverne (ex-Tanker 601 go?

And do you still plan on keeping the 1973 Seagrave PB?

Thank you - Jerry

Jerry,

The second Luverne went to Alabama and the 1973 Seagrave was sold to one of our members. I'm going to do a map for our webpage that shows where all our recently-sold apparatus has gone.

While we go through the process of rebuilding Station 1, we'll be down to 2 pumpers, 1 truck, 1 tanker, 1 Jeep, 1 Utility and our Command unit. Once Station 1 is rebuilt and open, we're considering purchasing a quint so we'd have a ladder on both sides of town.

Is R613 a walkin unit? Judging by the box it looks tall enough to be. Looking forward to seeing her on the streets.

Ian, as a big Seagrave fan I have kept up with your purchase of the new Tiller and the Engines. Why did you guys chose Pierce for the Tanker? My department is all Seagrave with the exception of our Rescue company which is a Pierce. Pierce was actually the low bid on that truck. Im just curious about you guys and by the way.... That is one beautiful fleet you have.. the Tanker should be a nice fit!!! GB

R613 is a walk in. There is storage, instead of seats, in the back.

Sorry, you'll be disappointed; I replied privately. There are plenty of boards out there with bashing of this and bashing of that...I'm hoping this one doesn't turn into something similar. (It did take a considerable amout of restraint, however!!)
