Brush 3 (43) South West

OPFD operates two brush units in the south part of the city one from FH 3 and the other from FH 5. They are cross staffed by Quint 3 (43) and Engine 5 (45).

Its a refurb. I dont recall what year the Dash cab is, I believe it is from a CJCFPD pumper. The trailer is Hackney. I agree its a great looking truck!

Thought this was a kinda neat shot. Taken in the rear of the shops through a fence.

It is a 1990 or 1993 Pierce Dash orginally Engine 1 then Engine 3 then refurbed to the current unit. CJCFPD has two Reserve 1986 Pierce Arrow Engines and one Reserve 1986 Pierce Arrow Quint 75ft as Ladder 11. They love their Pierce Arrows and did not want to loose them as reserves. I believe that is why the newer Dash was converted to a tractor.

KCFD Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department Truck 8 #21581-01 housed with Pumper 41

Two new 100ft Pierce Veloicty Tower Ladders 1500/300

Truck 8 and Truck 13

The truck captains all asked for a Tillered fleet but Tower Ladders is what you get. KCFD has very agressive truck work and the truck companys will not use the pumps or hose this is merely so the will meet NFPA 1710 standard. The truck companys see the pump and hose space as a waste were good compartments could go. Just passing along the truck companys views. Truck 8 will loose their 100ft Tiller and Truck 13 will loose their 100ft Sutphen Tower.
