Years ago, the late Don Loeb did an article in Fire Chief Magazine featuring this apparatus. It began life as a standard side-mount mini-pumper and the bumper pump was later added to expand it's capabilities on structure fires.

Thanks for the shot of the Landrum FD R4. I was the salesman on that unit. Took a long time to get the layout right. Had to be a certain length to fit into station. That poor chassis went from Mt.Holly NC to Sanford FL to Hamburg NY and finally to Landrum SC. These folks waited a long time on the unit. They have used it on several mutal aid calls in NC and SC.

Andrew, can you confirm that Mack s/n? MC686FC-1225 is a rescue from Hudson, OH

That's what the data plate in the cab said Mike, I caught that myself! If correct, shouldn't this have a Saulsbury rescue body on it? They mentioned that the truck came from James(something), NY. Jamestown, Jamesville, James River, something like that.

It wasn't Jamestown. The last Mack they bought was a 1935 model and they've never bought an E\-One!

what did the horn button say?

and it would have a Saulsbury rescue body on it.

Thank You Mike!!!!!!! I knew I could depend on you to solve the mystery! I checked the Horn Ring and it didn't say anything on it actually. Just had the Mack Bulldog emblem.

Then it started clouding up. I just shot these out of sheer opportunity, because of how neat the trucks were. I fully intend to re-shoot these in the sun sometime soon. I have a contact that's willing to pose them all for us, possibly even shoot them himself. Who wants to make a trip back to Lakeview with me?
