That's kind of what I was thinking too, neat though because it brings the older "doors on the back of the cab" design with newer cab designs as well. That is an awesome color.

Is this Londonderry, NH's old ladder?

I think the Londonderry ladder ended up in Chester NH after they shortened it to 80'.

Malletts Bay was the original owner of this apparatus. I have no idea where it went when it was replaced.[quote name='Tommy McQuade' timestamp='1309226952' post='445875']

Vermont has seem to have a big Pierce influence lately, from what I understand theres new Pierces on order for Windsor, Winhall, and Brattleboro.......seems years ago that Pierce's were few and far between, the big influence in the past was E\-One

To my knowledge the last big E\-One order was in 2002 when Burlington took delivery of 2 Engines (Engines 1 and 4), 1 Quint (Engine 2) and a Tower Ladder (Tower 1) and some new Ambulances (called "Rescues" in Burlington) for Stations 1 and 2. Engine Company 1's previous Pierce "workhorse" went to become Engine 5. Corrections welcome. I doubt Malletts Bay will continue with American LaFrance, seeing how much trouble they had getting their Rescue Engine delivered on time. Great Department. Good guys.

Seems South Burlington is on the "cutting edge" in rig deliveries. I'm surprised they replaced their Tower (which I believe was purchased used by a dept. in California) with a Quint, but it looks very professionally spec'd, as do the new Engines 1 and 2. My own personal opinion is that they should have gone with different side mirrors, based on negative feedback from a large department around here, who went with them on several Engines, Trucks and Rescues purchased in 2009, but since then have gone back to more conventional mirrors on their annual orders.

Sharp looking rigs!

From what I understand the quint was designed to store a 2 section 35ft ground ladder, the first I can recall of a single rear axle quint storing a 2 section 35 (vs. the ungodly 3 sections) inside the body rather than on the exterior......if its true I'd like to see it and it probably tells me that yes indeed, some deep thought went into the rigs design.

The quint does have a 2-section 35' ladder, as well as a 28' ladder. I will find my pics of the ladder storage area. it looks very tidy, there is a small blister to the rear door and that is the only noticeable change outside.
